Double win for iiCON’s Director at the Northern Leadership Awards 2023
iiCON’s Director, Professor Janet Hemingway, was presented with two prestigious awards at this year’s Northern Leadership Awards.
At the ceremony, which took place at Manchester’s Midlands Hotel on the 30th March, Prof Hemingway won both the Liverpool City Region Leader and Overall Leader of the Year awards.
On receiving the Overall Leader of the Year award, the event’s guests gave Prof Hemingway a standing ovation in recognition of her achievements in the field of infection control and vaccine development.
On being presented with the award Professor Janet Hemingway said: “There’s always the next thing. I never look back I always look forward. I’ve circumnavigated the globe to end up back here in the north. I’d like to leave a legacy back here, of something quite large.”
Prof Hemingway founded iiCON in 2020 to bring together industry, academia, and the NHS in order to save lives globally by accelerating the discovery and development of new treatments, diagnostics, vaccines, and preventative products for infectious diseases.
The awards, which are hosted by The Business Desk North West, showcase the very best leaders in the North West.
